Melanesia, which includes Fiji, Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea, and other countries, is a diverse region with a wide range of cultural and ethnic groups. In general, Black Americans may be seen and treated differently depending on the specific country and community they visit.

As a Melanesian we are considered black and we are mostly seen as such and I have no problem with it. I am proud of my heritage and my beautiful country and people. My country is very close to Australia but we are not scrambling to get to live there because our home is far more natural and beautiful and fewer people means you are always in familiar surroundings with people you know or are familiar with. I am black and there’s black people everywhere not only in Africa.
