Fake energy will always expose itself, eventually. Too many people confuse spirituality with 100% positivity. Portraying that love & light persona all the time just seems rather fake & very superficial. One thing this journey has profoundly taught me was to not being ashamed of showing my shadow side, as it is through darkness my gifts & light are developed. That’s how you can tell an authentically enlightened person from someone who’s so positive that it exudes fake energy. Demons don’t dwell in darkness, they dwell in the false light.

This book here. Not for everyone. I would definitely not recommend this to most females. Some of the information is unsettling, and the somewhat glorifying delivery in here is too damaging for many.... especially those easily persuaded in the wrong direction... especially young stupid men.

For years and years I had friends telling me to read this book. I didn't read it, because Pimping is just plain wrong, and as a teenager I had seen people read this book and then try to become pimps and hustlers usually failing miserably. In fact one of them still has bullet fragments lodged up inside of him that they couldn't remove. He asked me to be his muscle, and I told that fool you not built like that. Then that happened. We can laugh now. 🤣🤣

Maybe 10 years ago a respected Yoruba priest suggested it again, and after talking with him and gaining some insights I decided to give it a read. Since then I've probably read this book about five times. Is he talking about the pimp game? Yes, but this book is not about pimping. Buried beneath the surface is traditional African male/female Dynamics, along with leadership and life lessons.

He teaches you how to navigate relationships, keep your cool, avoid unnecessary conflict, how to keep peace in your home, and what not to do.

One of the most powerful things about this book is his failed relationship with Henry. A strong Black stepfather whom he loved immensely and that he mentions throughout the book. He draws some very powerful parallels; for both men and women, between Black fathers, and finding our BEST selves, finding happiness, and being well adjusted.

I could see reading this book with a significant other, or a group. Taking turns reading to each other, and discussing it, or reading then some group discussions. It would definitely take a certain kind of people to do this peacefully, but it might prove rewarding.

On the surface it's street game, but beneath the surface Iceberg Slim lays down some culture baby!

I grew up in the mist of all this kinda madness. I observed so much from pimps & prostitutes & knew right away that I would never walk that walk! The irony in it all, them høes & pimps were some what protective of me & a few others in the neighborhood. I really caint say that it ain’t too much that I ain’t seen while growing up in SouthCentral L.A. & I Am so grateful for the informative & protective parents that raised me & sheltered me from all that. Asé!!!

I took down a pic I saw of trump/Giuliani (Moss and Freeman’s new indentured servant), because I didn’t realize what trump had in his hand. I’m not with that…so I took it down.
