Platinum: South Africa is by far the largest producer of platinum in the world. The Bushveld Igneous Complex in South Africa contains a significant portion of the world's platinum reserves. Other countries in Africa, such as Zimbabwe and Russia, also have platinum reserves, but their production levels are generally lower than that of South Africa.
