Brazil's 🇧🇷 Supreme Court has ruled this week that homophobia is now punishable by prison in a landmark decision.

The unanimous 9-1 ruling that took place on Tuesday now puts homophobic slurs on par legally as racist hate speech. Justice Edson Fachin, the lead judge on the case, said in his ruling it was a "constitutional imperative" to give LGBTQ+ 🏳️‍🌈 citizens equal protection under the law. How is being afraid of gay people a crime? 👀

Growing up in the 70's in West Baltimore, there was a group of 'Nam Vets who formed a group called Black October. They patrolled the streets. If you committed a heinous crime, YOU DISAPPEARED! Where I grew up was crime free for about 9 months, until the police stepped in and shut down the group.....

As the drug business spread its tendrils through the city of Baltimore in the 1970s, a shadowy vigilante group emerged threatening to fight the narcotics trade with street justice. And in the cavernous parking garage of a non-descript apartment building Black October did just that. Gunned down was State Delegate Turk Scott, a consummate political insider who had just been indicted for bringing ten kilos of heroin into the city.
