Do you remember the word deflect? And yesterday I decided to look it up on google..a person who blamed another person that it’s their fault rather than taking responsibility for their own mistakes or sins.
A person who chooses not to listen to the criticism of their wrongdoings. I did watched YouTube of people cheating on their spouses and significant others. It’s the same thing with black people dealing with systemic racism and oppression but many different situations…every time black people bring up race, white people find ways to deflect them…another way of denying…it’s also another form of gaslighting. I keep repeating myself like a broken record in my poems that black people need to fight back. Need to be violent because as a black race we’re exhausted.. even a few white people and other races tell black people to stand up and fuck the whole system up. Still we don’t listen. I think it’s our conditions that severely Holds us back though it’s not supposed to be an excuse. There are a whole lot of individualism in the black communities…we have no self respect and dignity for ourselves at all. Like Dr. Frances Cress Welsing said, it’s been annihilated.
