The car’s unveiling would likely be considered tone deaf any February, but scores of people on social media were quick to point out that the cruiser is especially galling given that it came just one day after Tyre Nichols, who was killed at the hands of 5 Memphis police officers in January, was laid to rest in a funeral on Feb 1. The NAACP’s Sherrilyn Ifill called the custom car ‘grotesque.’
