Any kind of abuse…it hurts the mind

Do you observe trauma?

Look how we develop mental illnesses
That has been passed down to multiple
Generations….some of us ask ourselves
How did we get like this?
How did we get so lost?
How did we get extremely broken?
Cos back in the day after the chains were off our feet,
There were no therapy for us….

We find ways to cope
Any other way to heal
However there’s Jim Crow kept addin on the torture…
More psychological programs to diminish us…
I think this is violence towards our brains….

When I thought abuse
Abuse of slavery along with colonialism
I picture my people carryin lifetime hurts
Forever and they don’t realize they do…
Cos they’re desensitized….they’re used to
Being bullied by the white supremacy….
It’s another reason why we can’t come together
And fight back…it’s not an excuse but it is at the same
Time…..

I also think ignorance is part of a sickness…
I’m not a professional help…
I’m just an observer….
And I study my people…I do pick up things
And turn them into critical thinkin poems….

And nobody thought of that..
Not the least to my knowledge
I don’t think anyone thinks of
That…when you’re in a violent situations,
It does changes you….
It changes how you think…
It changes how you feel, too….
