Man stabbed for confronting stranger caught urinating in public. February 15.
GREENWICH VILLAGE, NY – A daylight incident in Greenwich Village turned violent on Wednesday. A man was stabbed for confronting a disturbed stranger who was caught urinating in front of a condominium, according to the police.

The 27-year-old victim of the stabbing incident was outside a building on Downing Street just past 4 p.m. when he saw a man openly urinating. When he confronted him about the inappropriate act, a fight ensued. The offender stabbed the man in the right side of his stomach with an unidentified sharp object.

After the attack, the assailant fled south on Varick Street. The victim, who was stabbed by the stranger, was taken to Bellevue Hospital for medical treatment and evaluation.

As of Thursday, the police are still searching for the attacker who brandished a knife. According to authorities investigating the case, he has been described as a slim man with a medium complexion. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie under a blue vest, gray pants, and brown boots.

This disturbing incident took place just weeks after a similar occurrence in the East Village, where a caregiver was slashed with a box cutter for challenging a man who was found urinating on a car.
